Project summary…

In this 2 bed / 2 bath addition we we were able to add over a thousand square feet of living space without interfering with the foot print of the existing structure. We blew up the roof above the garage and added multiple engineered structural beams allowing us to grow the space organically but also tie into the existing roof line while maintaining consistency with the existing ceiling height. We wanted to bring in as much natural light as possible while still maintaining coherence with the original Hawaiin Plantation motif. We dropped in matching cantilevers on other side to widen the living space substantially. we added extensive roof surface to bring in additional solar panels which helped add adequate power to the property and enhance the environmentally sustainable intentions the homeowners sought out. We utilized multiple pocket doors to maximize space and comfort. We worked closely with a very popular, local designer Salt House Collective to obtain a vibrant, coastal feel while tying in details from a previous remodel. The result is smiling faces across the board.
